| Summer™ hop brings a promise of subtle, light apricot and melon flavours in a number of beer styles.. Brew Tips Low in alpha acid, brewers can be flexible with dosing when using this hop for flavour and aroma. Summer’s™ apricot and melon characters are more apparent when dry hopping. Hop Story Summer™ was one of the first shining lights from HPA’s efforts at breeding true aroma varieties (by European definition) suitable for Australian growing conditions.She was identified early as having all the textbook traits of a true aroma variety and was included in many fine beers. However, the sun started to shine on Summer™ when she was used in dry hopping, which brought out her distinctive apricot and stone fruit notes.. |

| Summer was bred at Hop Products Australia, Tasmanian Bushy Park breeding garden in 1997. This cultivar was bred via open pollination of a tetraploid Czech Saaz mother. | There are so many new fruity hops out there that you could brew a beer with a simple base malt foundation and a little bit of bittering hops at the start of the boil to set up for a huge hop burst with many different varieties added at the end of the boil. Dry hop for a few days before bottling or kegging, this beer would be a fruity masterpiece. Drink it fresh and I don’t think there would be a better homebrew for hop heads. |
