| The Master Spirit Filter delivers the best results, every time. Made of 304 Grade Stainless Steel, and designed for the home brew industry, this filter is the best money can buy. Using 350 grams of Granulated Activated Carbon, (GAC), you get maximum contact time with your beverage, ensuring efficient and effective removal of taint and smell, including chlorides from municipal water. You re not locked into buying a specific brand of carbon, nor do you need to worry about plastic parts being dissolved into your beverage. You can expect this filter to last a life time. Please Note: Spirit cannot be filtered properly at high percentage rates. 40% is recommended as you need to treat the finished product and not add any water after filtering. The filter has an upper chamber, treatment chamber and flow control chamber. The filter also comes with a mounting bracket so you can mount the unit to any wall - saves on that precious bench space! Measurements: Upper Chamber Diameter: 120mm (Approx) Upper Chamber Height: 380mm(Approx) Total Filter Height: 1.2m or 1200mm( Approx) Instructions: 1.Mount the Filter System to a suitable wall fixture at a suitable height with the mounting bracket. 2.Pack the flow control chamber using filter media such as cheese cloth or filter wool. This will ensure no fine carbon dust is present in the finished product. 3.Connect the flow control chamber to the treatment chamber and pour the activated carbon into the treatment chamber. 4.Attach the upper chamber to the treatment chamber. 5.Place a collection bottle such as a 5L demijohn below the ball valve outlet on the flow control chamber and make sure the ball valve tap is in the closed position. 6.Pour 2-3 litres of water into the filter. Wait 30 mins and open the ball valve to allow 2-3 drips per second until all water has passed through the carbon. 7.Close the ball valve and add the spirits. Once filled with spirit wait at least 45 minutes to ensure the carbon in the treatment chamber is saturated. 8.After 45 minutes open the ball valve and turn the ball valve on to allow 2 drips per seconds. This rate will allow sufficient dwell time within the carbon in the treatment chamber. Please Note: Approximately 350 grams of actived carbon will filter approximately 10 litres of Spirits. Once filtering is complete, remove all carbon from the treatment chamber and dispose. Clean the entire filter with hot water and a mild detergent then dry completely before storing. |
