Calcium Sulphate is an important mineral for its effect on mash and wort pH. Used to harden water (lowers mash pH) when brewing ales and bitters and accentuates hop character. Also known as Gypsum this product is useful for adding calcium if the water is low in sulfate. Can be used to add sulfate "crispness" to the hop bitterness. This product also lowers the pH of the water. |
