Helga is a true Australian aroma hop with a German accent, She was developed in Australia from the noble German cultivar Hallertau Mittelfrueh.
Helga’s delicate floral and subtle herbal aroma is an excellent companion to stronger malt driven ales and lagers.

BREW TIPS
Whether used for bittering, flavour or aroma, in the kettle, in the whirlpool or dry hopping, Helga has a forgiving character, which will reward a brewer’s inquisitive nature.
With low to moderatelevels of alpha acid, Helga is the perfect variety to give refined characters typical of European hops, to beer.

Australian born variety Helga was bred in 1986 with the aim of offering similar brewing characteristics to Hallertau Mittelfreuh.

A quiet achiever, Helga was grown on a limited basis for the better part of a decade before a surge in interest from craft brewers resulted in her finding a home in a broad range of craft beer styles.
