Use 100g per litre of spirit for general use, we have found that 2 soakings gives the best results. If you decide to use the chunks for a 3rd soaking we recommend also using an essence.

Soak 100g per litre of spirit as a general guide or to your personal taste.
We have found that the following produces the best results and yield:
First Soaking: add 2.5 litres of spirit to 500g of Pure Distilling Chunks and leave to soak for 6 - 8 days, Drain the spirit from the chunks and filter through a filter paper to remove any dust particles. This should be kept for your personal stocks.
Second Soaking: add a further 2.3 litres of spirit and soak for 10 - 24 days depending on taste. drain and filter as per First Soaking. This is good for the usual tipple and for visitors.
Third Soaking: add a further 2.3 litres of spirit and soak for 5 - 6 weeks depending on taste,drain and filter as per First Soaking.This third run can be improved by adding a Pure Distilling Scotch Whisky Essence.
